ForexTrailer (FXT) Partial Close Using Percentage (%)

There is an issue commonly raised from our ForexTrailer Users on the partial close feature to close out part of their trade position.

This issue is with regards to using the % value of partial close especially on accounts that do not allow micro lots.

As you might know, lot sizes in round numbers such as 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or even 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 when used after 50% partial close will give you 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3. These are lot size values which have up to only 1 decimal place (often known as mini size lots) for most brokers.

But what if you wish to close lot sizes with partial close % that will give you a resulting of up to 2 decimal places (often known as micro size lots)?

Eg.

You are trading with 0.7 lots and you wish to partial close at 50%, the result should be a remaining trade position of 0.35 lots or 35 micro lot size.

Or you are trading with 1.5 lots and you wish to partial close at 30%, the result should be a remaining trade position of 1.05 lots or 105 micro lot size.

ForexTrailer will be able to perform the above 2 example with ease. The only problem is that whether you are currently trading on a micro lot size account or not.

If the current account you are trading does not allow micro lot size trading, ForexTrailer will not be able to execute the order properly for you as your broker does not accept micro lot size values.

That is the limitation of ForexTrailer for now as ForexTrailer is not intuitive to an extent where it will recognize that the trading account does not allow micro lots and will perform rounding up or down of the lot size into the nearest  mini lot size value (0.1).

In order to overcome this challenge, we propose that:

1) you either could request from your broker to allow you to trade with micro lots

or

2) if your broker does not support micro lots capability, you have to perform manual calculation beforehand when deciding what percentage partial close on your trade lot size to avoid the result of having micro lot size position (having up to 2 decimal places), only thereafter you start up ForexTrailer to manage your trade

Demo Account And Live Account Product Key Usage

I wish to address another issue which many new users could be confused with.

For new users of ForexTrailer And ForexGeometry, they will receive their first time Product Key information which is used to login to their Members Area to access to the software and videos.

The same Product Key can ONLY be used with unlimited Demo trading accounts. This Product Key given to you for the first time is only a temporary product key.

In order to use for Live trading accounts, you must login to your Members Area with your temporary Product Key and register your Live account number to get a permanent Product Key.

After which you can use this permanent Product Key to trade on unlimited Demo trading accounts and ONLY on one Live trading account.
